I won't cry now, here comes September

Spring had sprung for those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, in the not too distant future and will be those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer where it's simply too hot to do anything but lay on the beach...

Until such time, I suggest we all enjoy the fleeting moments of coolness in the air, the need for jackets and tights and the final delight of chilly goosebumps!

I, for one will miss Winter, but will enjoy what Spring has to offer, picnics in the park, new flowers, my annual spring clean out of my wardrobe, and the sun! Oh the sun! The sun actually being up in the sky as a walk to the train station in the morning; the sun still being in the sky as I walk home from the train at night. You have no idea what a difference what this can make to a person's well being!

Of course now that it's Spring here, it's also Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, and I am beyond jealous of what this means for my friends on the other side of the world! It was this time last year that my time in New York was quickly coming to an end. There was an actual change in the weather conditions between the last day of summer and the first day of fall. Almost immediately there was a chill in the breezy where before there was overwhelming humidity, only made worse by the subway grates letting of their steam. There was crispness to the air; there was a need for a cardigan later in the day. I can still remember the sadness that I felt and the anxiety to make every last moment matter. I can not believe how quickly a year has gone! It blows my mind when I think about all that has passed in that year!
